First Post/Opening day 2008

Welcome to my new blog about all things Red Sox! This'll be a place post Red Sox news, opinions, and the occasional rant. I might also venture into other topics such as an occasional "Yankees Suck" post or talk about baseball in general. I'll use this post to talk about opening day 2008.

The Red Sox defeated the Detroit Tigers by a score of 5-0, with Daisuke Matsuzaka picking up the win for the good guys. The victory sweetens the day for the Sox, who recieved thier World Series rings today- I'd put up a photo, but as far as I know, there aren't any for me to show. The Sox will take on the Tigers in game two of this three-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 on NESN.

Game notes for April 8th, 2008:
-The Red Sox got thier 2007 World Series rings before the game today.
-Bill Buckner threw out the first pitch.
-Steven Tyler of Aerosmith was there to sing God Bless America.
-Neil Diamond made an appearance on video, singing Sweet Caroline, and announcing that he will be playing a concert at Fenway in August after being invited by the Sox ownership.

Winning Pitcher: Daisuke Matsuzaka
Losing Pitcher: Kenny Rogers
